Worcestershire wholesaler site ‘providing 200 jobs’ completed

Bidfood

Work has been completed on creating a regional hub for food wholesaler Bidfood which said the site in Worcester would provide about 200 new jobs.

The company plans to move into the premises at Worcester Six Business Park this month, according to the county council.

Bidfood previously stated the set-up would “offer some much needed capacity in and around the Birmingham area”.

The business park, 10 minutes from the Parkway railway station near Norton, had already attracted “world-class businesses like Siemens, Kohler Mira, ZwickRoell and Spire Healthcare”, the council said.

It added recent infrastructure improvements had “unlocked more land for development, which will support further business investment and job opportunities for the county”.

Bidfood supplies more than 10,000 products to more than 45,000 caterers and food service businesses across the UK, the council states.

Company chief operating officer Mark Wood said the development continued “to emphasise the importance that we place on long-term investment in our infrastructure”.

In November 2023, the firm said the site would “provide excellent transport links to the Midlands region and serve the communities in which it operates by providing around 200 new jobs to local people”.

On Thursday, developer Stoford, which completed works on the premises, stated Bidfood joined “a strong list of established occupiers that have chosen W6 as their home”.
