Shropshire towns to get bus link for first time in 50 years

Shropshire Bus Service

A bus service has been introduced to link two towns for the first time in half a century.

Funding from the government has allowed Shropshire Council to extend an existing service to connect Shrewsbury and Broseley.

It said it hoped the buses would lead to fewer people making car journeys, which in turn would be good for the environment.

The new service is one of a number of changes being introduced on Monday.

There is also an updated timetable for the 125 service between Bridgnorth and Kidderminster, changes to the buses serving Harley and Much Wenlock, a new service connecting Oswestry and Much Wenlock with the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and timetable changes for the 576 Oswestry to Shrewsbury service.

Further changes in the coming weeks will include the return of an open-top sightseeing tour and a number of alterations to services in and out of Shrewsbury.
