One of the highlights of their 60th anniversary year is set to be the Spring Steam Gala.
What to expect at the Spring Steam Gala? The four day festival of steam will feature both guest and home locomotives operating a busy timetable between Kidderminster and Hampton Loade. If you and your family love steam, this is the place to be! Ride behind as many engines as you can, visit The Engine House at Highley to break your day, and sample the finest real-ales in our pubs. Perfect for those young and old, experience the Severn Valley at its steamiest!
Visiting locomotives:
- LMS Jubilee No 45596 ‘Bahamas’ – with thanks to the Bahamas Locomotive Society
- Second visiting locomotive to be announced 13th March
- Third locomotive to be announced shortly
Home-fleet locomotives:
- GWR 7802 Bradley Manor
- GWR 7812 Erlestoke Manor
- BR Standard 75069
There will be three main trains running between Kidderminster and Hampton Loade, accompanied by a mixture of local and goods trains operating between Kidderminster and Highley. Trains will run from 7.55am until the evening, with later trains on Friday and Saturday.
At Bridgnorth, GWR Pannier Tank 7714 will be in steam running up and down the platform.
